LEADERSHIP TEAM

  • Kelly Isbell Sr.

    Pastor | Men's Bible Study Coordinator

    I remember being on the streets living in New Orleans, LA as a teenager. It was a time of drugs, theft and immorality, but thanks be to God that He sought me out and saved my life: He showed up! I’ve been a born-again believer in Christ since 1982 and God has never let me down. Being married to Esther since 1981, having 5 children and 20 grand-children you can imagine that there’s been many battles and hardships in our lives. But there’s also been many miracles and an abundance of blessings. God assures us that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) and He never has!

    It’s been a joy to serve Jesus Christ and His people at New Beginnings Church since 2006. I remember the first service on September 24th. My wife and I didn’t know what to expect: Would it just be her and I, the worship team and a few family members? Would anyone give their life to Christ? Would the Spirit of God show up? Well God did what He promised He would do: He showed up and has been ever since.

    With a heart of evangelism and discipleship, it’s my prayer that those who attend New Beginnings Church would work out their own salvation (Philippians 2:12) with God through His Son Jesus Christ and grow in His Truth, the Bible.

    Youth Director |  Women's Bible Study Coordinator | Children's Ministries Director

    I was born and raised in a non-Christian home in Bay City, MI most of my young life until around the age of fifteen. At that time I moved to Louisiana where I met and fell in love with the love of my life of 37 years, Kelly (aka: Pastor of NBC) Together we have five adult children, and I am one proud ‘Nana’ of nineteen grandchildren. Kelly and I enjoy doing Life and Ministry together, well ok, most of the time lol. Trying to live my life trusting the Holy Spirit, marked by a faith beyond me, intentional, pleasing and bent on what God would have me to do because I love and desire HIM more than anything. Trying to live out Gal. 2:20 “….no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” I desire to live a transformed life, pleasing and obedient to God.

    I enjoy COFFEE, reading, gardening, and lately have found I really like to decorate cakes. Traveling is Awesome! Why? Because I LOVE to see, smell, touch and experience new random things and meeting people. I enjoy music, and collect random instruments with the hope to learn them before I go to see Jesus one day. I also have a desire to open a coffee/eatery type place one day, will I? I don’t know but, until I figure it out, I will continue to seek God and dream of the possibility of it becoming a reality one day.

    I hear I’m a little crazy but, yeah that’s ok too, because I think sometimes you gotta be a little bit crazy to spend my life doing the heart beat ministry the good Lord has entrusted to me. Which includes building REALationships, equipping and encouraging young people for the higher calling.  Which I know, is Only through the ‘LIFE-CHANGE’ that occurred in and through me at the age of 28 when I met Jesus as my Lord and Savior. That is when I began to cling to my life verse Phil. 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”  Because I know “it’s only because of Christ, go I” My heart beats hard for our young people, knowing they are the future and can do ENDLESS GREAT things when they have a REAl relationship with Christ, equipped, believed in and challenged higher as they are walking out an obedient life, learning to trust the Holy Spirit’s Power working thru them to impact those in their circles, and beyond. I also happen to believe because God’s retirement plan is “outta of this world”, I feel that I might just become one of the oldest youth workers out there one day.  I’m pretty sure of it. Ha-ha, Positionaly it might change, but the heartbeat will beat until I’m six feet under. So, Whatever, however that looks like to God, I’m ALL IN, till then! So there it is, a little about me.

  • Sarah Kue

    Worship Leader | Youth Leader | Missions Director

    I received my calling to follow Jesus at the age of 17. I grew up in a Christian home and learned all the bible stories. My parents were faithful and wonderful role models to follow and at a very young age instilled in me a love of music and art. As I entered my early teen years I realized that I had a void inside of me that nothing I found could fill. I often doubted my worth and value, however, all that changed the moment I met Jesus personally. Up until that time my faith was merely a head knowledge, not a relationship with Jesus. When I surrendered my life to Him I found love beyond this world, full acceptance, and true forgiveness. My life’s desire and calling is to invite all people to experience and know this kind of love.

    Our worship and service to God is simply a response to the redemptive work He has done and continues to do in our lives! I love my local church family and would like to  invite anyone looking for a true family and thriving faith to come check NBC out.

    Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 40:1-3

    I waited patiently for the Lord;
    he turned to me and heard my cry.

    He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
    out of the mud and mire;

    He set my feet on a rock
    and gave me a firm place to stand.

    He put a new song in my mouth,
    a hymn of praise to our God.

    Many will see and fear the Lord
    and put their trust in him.

    Worship  Leader | College & Career Coordinator | Treasurer

    I have been apart of New Beginnings Church since they opened their doors in 2006. I started in worship ministry at a young age and through the mentors of previous worship leaders I grew to become one myself. Along with my worship team at the time, we began as an interim praise and worship team for New Beginnings. Overtime our love for the church and it’s people grew and we became apart of it. When I think of New Beginnings Church, I think of a fresh start, love and being totally submerged in the truth of the Word of God. That’s why I love NBC!! I love that at the end of the day, whether I’ve had disagreements and conflicts with the world I live in, I can submit it all and the final judgement is all in His word and THAT’s what New Beginnings Church has taught me. It’s taught me to view the world not through my eyes but through the eyes of the Word of God, which is God Himself.

    For those thinking of attending New Beginnings Church, I’d like to say WELCOME!! Here you will grow and be challenged in the Word of God, you will come to know  the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and will learn how to depend on Him daily and you will know His love through His people at New Beginnings Church.

    Favorite Bible Verse: Romans 9:25

    “Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’

    and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’”

    “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’

    there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”

  • Alycia Leitner

    Sound Technician

    I am a servant at heart and I love to give in any capacity to build up the church body. Currently I am in tech ministry and my goal is to show Christ well through media, presentations, and sound. In the past I have also served in the youth ministry & children's ministry at New Beginnings Church– all which I believe are extremely important and vital. My desire is to see all the members of the church family realize their servant calling in ministry and be filled with the power to act upon that calling.
